A MOST GHOULISH DEBATE

Thanks for a detailed analysis. I saw this "piece of leftist junk" in another newspaper this morning. Off course every leftist outlet will have a field day with this cooked up study. These turncoats don't care how many of our young men are dying to protect all those comfy corner offices where leftists can sit and write these junk studies.

MUSHARRAF AND PAKISTAN SLIPPING TOWARD DISASTER

One correction for my comment #4.

For the second last paragraph, please read:

Had US stayed on the side of Pakistan, Musharraf’s army would have driven out Osama, Ayatullahs, ex-Commie neo-Putanian Russians and other sundry characters out of "Afghanistan".

Thanks.

Rick,

I respectfully disagree with your assessment. Musharraf and Pak army as an organization form the best American Ally (along with Israel) in the whole of Middle East. Clinton goofed up big time by ignoring and ditching Pakistan for 8 long years. While Clinton busied himself in violating the sanctity of the Oval Office, American interests were burned around the world. US ally Pakistan was subjected to the worst possible attack from all sides thanks to the ex-Commie Russians, Indians, and Ayatullahs.

It was a last resort for Pakistan to save itself and American interests by supporting Taliban. However during the period of 1998-1999 Pakistan’s deal with Taliban ended in fiasco when Osama Bin Laden offered more money to Taliban than a cash-strapped Pakistan.

It never occurred to Clinton that India and Pakistan both had clandestine nuke program, but his administration slapped sanctions on the "only" ally in the whole region aka Pakistan. This was done while cozying up with India the arch nemesis of Pakistan.

The two actions of Clinton administration were not one but two slaps on Pakistani face.

It was only after 9/11 and visionary leadership of Prez. Bush that we realized our folly and moved back to our ally Pakistan. And Pakistan obliged by offering all the help it could. (I’ll address Armitage’s supposed threat in a separate comment).

Lefties make a big deal about Musharraf’s “about turn” on Taliban. That assumption is totally false. Musharraf and Pakistan had divorced Afghan Taliban long before the fateful year of 2001.

Taliban is a little disposable entity for Pakistan. Taliban are too unreliable and rather dangerous for the long term vision of Pakistan. Had US stayed on the side of Pakistan, Musharraf’s army would have driven out Osama, Ayatullahs, ex-Commie neo-Putanian Russians and other sundry characters out of Pakistan.

In conclusion, my predictions are that Pakistan will remain a loyal ally for US as long we keep lefties from destroying our strategic partnerships around the world.

Thank you.

p.s. There are many more aspects to this discussion that are impossible to cover through comments.
